Creating a new Default Document View Style

  1. Select the Default Document Styles option from the Account Settings menu

  2. Click the button in the dialog that opens to Create New Document View Style

  3. By default, a new style does not have any options set. To select the default styles, click through each group of styles and select your desired styling. Keep in mind that the styles can always be updated down the road!

  4. When you are finished setting up the styling options, click the Save Changes button.

πŸ‘‰ Smart Tip: Keep in mind that Default Document View Styles are saved at a company-level, meaning that anyone in your company will have access to use the styles you create. This is a great way to create and adhere to company-wide branding guidelines for documents!

Editing an Existing Default Document View Style

Users are able to make changes to a Default Document View Style after it has been created. Note, however, that changes made to the default style will not be retroactively applied to documents where the style is used.

  2. Select the Default Style from the dropdown that you would like to edit

  3. Make changes to the style, then click Save Changes to save the style

Using a Default Style with a Document View

Once you (or someone else in your company has created a Default Document View Style, it is time to use that style in a Document View.

Selecting a Default Style in a new Document View

When creating a new Document View, select a Default Style from the dropdown list of available styles. The styles available in the list are any style that anyone in your company has created. Don't worry if you are not sure which style to select, you can always change your selection after creating the document view!

Selecting a Default Style in an existing Document View

  1. From an existing Document View, open the View Settings

  2. Select a style from the dropdown list of Default Document Styles. Note that the styles available in the list are any style that anyone in your company has created.

  3. If you would like to look at what styles are set on a particular Default Document Style, click on button to View Default Style. This will open a dialog that will display all of the options that the default style includes.

  4. Click on the Save Changes button to save the selection of the Default Document Style for the view

Using a Default Style when placing Blocks

The power of a Default Document View Style is that whenever a new block is placed in a document, a set of styles can be automatically applied to the block.

  1. Open the Document View that is set up to use a Default Document View Style.

  2. Click on the Edit Document button to enter editing mode

  3. If a default style is selected for the view, you will be shown a message at the top of the list of available blocks indicating which Default Style is selected.

  4. Any new blocks placed in the document will use the corresponding default style. Once a block is placed in the document, the style of the block can be changed within the Document View editor. This will not have any effect on the default styling.

πŸ‘‰ Smart Tip: Any future changes to the Default Style will not be retroactively applied to documents where the Default Style was used. Changes to the Default Style will only be used when new blocks are placed in the Document View.
